- ADDENDUM – 2/27/2010, 12:45 PM
The whole show is, in fact, cancelled. No one will be playing at the Terrordome tonight. The people at the house and in the other bands have been very understanding, and we thank them for that. We’ll reschedule soon. Please keep an eye out for other shows at the Terrordome – they’re yet another one of the great things about Philadelphia these days – and hopefully we’ll see you at The Church in April, either way.

Philadelphia – one of the Rx lost someone close to him last night. He needs to be with family and friends, and obviously, we support him in that and share his grief. This means we will not be playing the Terrordome tonight. I hope you understand. Rest assured that we will reschedule as soon as we can, and please do send some good thoughts our way today… My guess is that the show will go on without us, and as soon as I find out for sure, I’ll update here and on Twitter, so you can still go support Punk Rock in West Philly!
Thank you.

Welcome Back

The Record Release/Pizza/Piñata/Live Karaoke Party mentioned below is now sold out!
Thanks to everyone who made that happen so quickly…

- ADDENDUM #2, 2/27/2010, 9:00 AM –
The Titus Andronicus record release show mentioned below is on Sat. 3/6, NOT Tues. 3/9! Their album comes on on the same day as ours, 3/9, and I thought their Bowery show was the same night, but I’ve just been informed that I am WRONG!! It is a few days before – Sat. 3/6!

As always, one must look upon adversity as opportunity, and being, ourselves (in the Royal sense), “one,” we have taken it upon ourselves to do likewise and use the unexpected disappearance of our previous hoopty hosting service to “nut up,” move to a better host, and do a redesign, for which I must thank Aaron, Jon, Nick, and Prod4ever Design – old friends from Boston who have done, in addition to sites for myself and Mission of Burma, a site and iPhone app for Chickenfoot and …George Harrison?

Anyway, this being a time of particular stress and action for me, I opted for simple information here in this first post, instead of a big ridiculous roll-out with tons of multimedia and etc. I will, however, be updating frequently with information and bloggings, and in the meantime, you can find all tour dates and other “info” type info, via the Web 1.0 style nav bar atop the page here. If you need me to explain what each category holds for you, you have no business making a sandwich, let alone operating an internet browsing device.

Which leads me to a quick note about the “social networking” sites – I will be updating the band’s Myspace and Facebook as soon as I can, but I should tell you now, that these will be maintained solely as dissemination devices for the most basic of information and some multimedia content. BY ALL MEANS, please feel free to network your proverbial asses off in either or both of those places, and though it sounds like I’m joking, I’m not – seriously – definitely use them to connect with other people – nothing would make me happier! As far as connecting with me or the band members or the few but amazing people who help us put the boot in and do the business around here, the e-mails listed in the Contacts section of this site is the way to go. I do still love Twitter, so definitely find and connect with me there, too! There are a few forums I can recommend as well – the O.G. “fan” community,, which hasn’t been updated that much recently, but I’m sure you can get it going again, and the official Matador Records band page, which has blog items that can be commented on and links to their own forum in which things can be discussed (though it seems like one long-timer over there already doesn’t like what she’s hearing from this record)…

Oh, speaking of which, did I mention that we have a new album coming out on Matador on March 9th? Yes – I did – on my old web site. Well now I’m mentioning it again here on the NEW one! And I’m doing it because I also want to let you know that we’re going to be having a record release pizza, piñata, and karaoke party at the new Knitting Factory in Brooklyn THAT NIGHT – MARCH 9, 2010. It’s $5 (mostly to cover room costs and the hand made piñatas that are coming in), it’s going to be hosted by comedian AND very funnym’n Max Silvestri, we’re going to play the LP front to back, take a quick break, then reclaim the stage for LIVE BAND KARAOKE. That’s right – I’ll be posting a list of songs from our own catalog and a huge and ridiculous amount of songs that OTHER people have written – some “punk,” some “piano bar” – so you can practice some options at home, then you’ll be able to sign up when you get there, first come first serve. It should be a blast, and we’re gonna keep it a little on the early side, so you may even be able to make it over to Titus Andronicus’ record release party at the Bowery that same night, full of piñata treats and good will.

If you wanna pre-order the record, you can do it through Matador, here.

Definitely check back for new “content” as we settle into the new space here, and as tour begins in just a couple of weeks, we will see you on the road.
